They guide and protect their charges, like a guardian angel. But how do you know what Spirit Animal guides you? Are you the Eagle? The Salmon? The Buffalo? Through shamanic journeywork and soul searching we will explore our own inner animals and let our instincts take over. If you have binoculars be sure to bring them!

4-6PM, THE BLACK BOX IN CABIN 1. 5 - Quazimodo! a participatory reading of a punk version of the hunchback play, written by David Koren (in 1993)

Quazimodo! is a play I wrote in 1993 that has since been produced all over the country (and in other English-speaking countries) over 50 times. I still really like it. I think it would be a blast to get six people together (the size of the cast) plus one person to read stage directions and read the thing. Others can listen or trade off or heckle. It's funny. You'll like it.

In celebration of Johnny B & Tim Corbett's epic ALPHAgy and of ALPHA itself, The Artisanal Fireside Refreshment Concern are sponsoring fireside Whiskey and Pickle Pairings.

Sample various pickles with various whiskeys. Which do you like best? It's unlikely that you'll recall.

Tasters are encouraged to arrive with an empty stomach to enjoy the entirety of the experience. This advanced technique can allow participants to have extra tastes of earlier pairings.

AFTER THE ALPHAGY, EFFIGY FIELD. 27 - Poetry and Drink for Johnny Irish hosted by David Koren
Let's hang out around the fire, read some poetry, tell stories, and raise a glass of Irish Whiskey for Johnny Irish, our dear friend who passed away this year. I'll read Zero Percent Bullshit, a poem I wrote for Johnny's Eulogy. I'm also thinking about reading some Whitman. And Yeats doesn't suck, either. Beckett would be fun. Bring: you, whiskey, stuff to read, and whatever.

A wacky jaunt into the world of fire, gravity and unintended consequences! Fun interactive experimentation with almost no soft tissue damage!

I'm giving a provocative 5-minute talk on the Wednesday after ALPHA at the American Alliance of Museums Conference in Atlanta called "The Museum Is Obsolete--Culture Doesn't Live in a Building." Come help me figure out what I should say! I'll likely have some thoughts, or a draft, but I want to hear what you think!

11AM-12PM, TV ROOM. 37 - Bindi Workshop by Daniela

My recent travels in India were truly eye opening, and since coming back I've been looking for ways to hold onto those feelings and explore further the meanings of what I found there.

In this workshop we will plumb the depths of the third eye by gluing silly things to our foreheads. A variety of more and less traditional materials will be available. We can use this time to talk about philosophy, art, culture, cultural appropriation, chakras, the pineal gland, higher consciousness, shiny things, googlie eyes, and other topics.

11AM-12PM, PAVILION. I Ching Workshop by Kurt O

It's a book, it's an oracle, it's ancient binary code. Without too much brouhaha we'll talk about the basics, cast our own hexagrams, and get all interpretive with what we discover.

Hula hooping: it's not just for sparkleponies anymore! Come learn the basics or level up with some schmancy moves. Bring a hoop if you have one; I will have a few to share.
